2.9. Integrated software

Integrated applications are software that consists of several applications, rather than just one, which are compatible with each other and can share information between applications.

It is a package of applications that contains several modules that enable various tasks to be carried out. Such packages are characterised by:

  • use a single type of user interface
  • allowing data to be easily transferred from one module to another
  • using a common methodology for the execution of general-purpose tasks
  • the use of web-based tools

For example, the integrated software package Microsoft Office or Open Office.
