4.1. PRACTICAL ASSIGNMENT. Create a story about patience.

Completion requirements

Make up your own story based on the example given.

“A student asked the sage:

  • What is the most important quality for a person to be forever happy?"
  • The sage replied: "Patience! Be patient, and you will achieve everything you desire!
  • The student laughed: "Ha, how can patience help if, for example, you carry water in a bucket with holes? No matter how patient you are, the water will still spill out!"
  • The sage answered: "Well, be patient and wait for the winter – the water will freeze into ice and won’t spill."

Discussion: Are there situations where patience alone is not enough?

(Yes – true patience always goes hand in hand with Compassion – a sense of the environment and attention to others; otherwise, it becomes stubbornness and meaningless suffering: see the lesson on patience and stubbornness).

Never lose patience – it is the last key that opens all doors. (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)

Patience can overcome fate. (Irish proverb).
