  1. EI-EN
  2. TOPIC 2. EMOTIONAL LITERACY
  3. 2.1.PRACTICAL ASSIGNMENT. How Emotionally Literate Are You?

2.1.PRACTICAL ASSIGNMENT. How Emotionally Literate Are You?

Completion requirements

Why not evaluate where you are now, what your emotional literacy is? Take this test and find out where you need to improve. Notice. Recognize. Acknowledge the test.

Option A

A1. Seeing another car occupying the parking space that you had already claimed in your mind, a thought flashes through your head: "He tricked me! He did it on purpose!".
A2. You then feel annoyed and are filled with anger (emotions).
A3. After that, a spontaneous action follows – for example, you make a significant gesture.

Option B
B1. The situation is the same, but you think: "I didn't make it in time..."
B2. Emotions: you feel a bit disappointed, but after a second, you are calm again.
B3. Action: you smile kindly as you pass by that car and look for another spot.

From both examples, we see that if different thoughts (evaluations of the situation) come to mind, the emotions (psychological well-being) are also different. What’s more, due to different thinking and the varied effects of emotions, the actions we take are also different.
