When your cup is filled with opinions and knowledge, you can't allow new ones in and limited to what you already know.

Empty your cup-2012 movie

A fact is a statement that can be proven and verified. It is based on objective evidence and observations. Facts can be confirmed through research, experiments, or other evidence.

An opinion is a personal view, belief, or judgment about a subject. It is based on subjective feelings and often includes elements of evaluation. Opinions can be shaped by personal experiences, values, or emotions.

A fact is like a photograph: it presents reality as it is. An opinion is like a painting: it interprets reality through the lens of personal perspective.

Example:

  • Fact: "Cats have four legs."
  • Opinion: "Cats are the best pets."

  • Fact: "It's raining today." This fact is easy to verify - just look out the window or check the forecast.
  • Opinion: "The weather today is terrible." Now that's an opinion. Rain may be pleasant for one person, irritating for another. Whether the weather is "terrible" depends on personal preferences and feelings.
