HDD - hard disk drive
It's where all your information is stored, it's your digital library, where all the data, photos and apps that are important to you are stored. Modern hard drives have a capacity of up to 5000 GB. An important feature of these drives is the speed at which information is exchanged. The faster the drive, the faster programs run and documents are saved
External hard disk drives (HDD)
Larger capacity media used for backup or large data storage.
Typically connected via USB, Thunderbolt or eSATA connections.
External SSDs
- Faster and more robust alternatives to external HDDs.
- Used for similar purposes as HDDs but faster and more durable.
CD-ROM, DVD drives. CD-ROM - a device that can read information from laser CD-ROMs. DVD-ROM is a device that can read high-capacity DVD laser discs. It is an obsolete device where reading information is often no longer possible on newer computers.
USB sticks or memory sticks. These are widely used electronic media of various capacities and designs that connect to a computer's USB port. Their capacities range from 128 MB to 256 GB. They are extremely convenient and reliable.
